Early Season at Redlands Bicycle

‍ ‍

We are thrilled to come back from Redlands Bicycle Classic with one of the best group results we have ever had in our TaG Cycling Race Team history.

‍ ‍

There has always been a standout or 2 performers and we have brought home jerseys and podium finishes. This year the team performed across the board showing diversity, durability and tenacity in both the men’s and the women’s races.

‍ ‍

4 of the men’s team just came up out of junior (U19) racing and 2 of the women are both still juniors at 17 years old.

Our young amateur teams took their place amongst the highly funded Pro team squads and made them take notice.

‍ ‍

The end result was 3rd place overall team in the mens field with 3 of the riders,2 of our youngest, being in the final circuits on the final day. 33 men were in the elite group that made it to the end of the gruelling sunset circuit.190 men started 5 days before.

‍ ‍

In both the women’s and the men’s races on the last day, TaG finished 5th, just off the podium. Amaia Ervin-Arambarri and Nathan Pruner both were in the final hunt. Amaia finished 7th overall in General Classification for the 5 days and was 2nd place young rider under 25.‍ ‍

To put this in perspective..Amaia raced her first bike race in May of 2025. Just 10 months later, we are thrilled at her progression!

‍ ‍

Gabriel Seguin, at 19 years old, was our top performer for the overall GC in 11th place and 3rd place in U25 competition. Our climber, Nathan Pruner had a 5th and 7th place finishes in 2 stages.

‍ ‍

Antoine Bergeron was our stand out 3rd GC rider, but also affected that when he stopped immediately to help and waited for Albert Taylor who was top of our GC at that time. With the format of the race neither of the 2 got back in the front group and it cost them considerable time in stage 2.

‍ ‍

The whole team was highly present and riding like much more seasoned riders in every stage.

‍ ‍

17 year olds, Elly Moore and Pascale Savard, as well as 19 year old Abigael Fortier all rode really strong races. They will be well prepared for next year having experienced the Pro field at such a young age.

‍ ‍

Thank you so much for your support of these young athletes.

I hope you can possibly support us again for the 2026 tax year. These races are so expensive now, even with riders paying for their travel it is hard to keep ahead of it.
