TaG Racing is so excited to announce that not one, but 2 of the 4 Junior Men representing Canada at the World Championships in the Road and Time Trial are from TaG Cycling!
Thank you so much for believing in our concept and program. Ben Katerberg and Conor Martin are off to Austria for the World Championships. Ben is second year junior meaning he will move on to U23 next year. As of October there will be more to tell on Bens future.
Conor is only just 17 and will have another year to spend in Junior racing. He will be back with TaG, but also spend some extensive stints in Europe in the spring
Key to their success was the time they spent in the Spring racing in France and then racing at Abitibi in July. These 2 components were the foundation of the program this year . Ben went on to win both National titles in the road race and time trial.Conor was second in the nation in the time trial and 4th in the road race. Conor went on to finish in 10th as 1st Canadian in the International Stage Race for Juniors, Tour de l’Abitibi
Each year has been more and more successful. I feel this achievement is truly signficant.
Maggie Coles Lyster is currently competing for Canada at the Pan Am Championships on the Track. The current World Champion in the Junior Points race stood on the podium 4 times in Superweek as a Pro woman. The rest of the team are winding down for the season, but all will race the Whistler Gran Fondo as a team. With Ben and Conor off to worlds and preparation camps, there will be 2 of our TaG Cycling coaches, Ted Battison and Greg Day, filling in for the boys in the Fondo to round out a mens team of 6 riders. Good luck to the coaches filling those boots!
Thank you for all you have done for this Cycling Generation and for supporting our mission.to develop Cycling Champions
