GREG DAY


I grew up in Whistler, BC where I was surrounded by mountain sports. I began alpine ski racing at a young age, and competed a national level. I have had the fortunate opportunity to ski at some of the most amazing hills around the world. Ski racing gave me my introduction to mountain biking when my summer mornings were spent on the Blackcomb Glacier training on my skis, then the afternoons spent out on the mountain bike trails. I quickly discovered my love for cycling and retired a few years later from competitive ski racing to ride, race, coach, and obsess over bikes.

I completed a bachelor degree in Physical Education and Coaching with a minor in Sports Psychology. While working through my degree I started my own personal training and coaching business called Daytime Athletics, where I trained and coached a variety of athletes, weekend warriors and the general public. In my thirst for learning, I recently completed a bachelor of Education, focusing on teaching Physical Education. I am still actively personal training on the North Shore, and continuing my cycling coaching, and I am very excited to be apart of the TaG Cycling movement.

I have been racing as a professional Cross-Country Mountain biker for 5 years now, and I have loved every minute of it. Although my main focus is on marathon mountain bike racing, I also race on the road, and for the last 2 years I have been enjoying the cold Cyclo-Cross fall and winter season.

Skiing is still a very big part of my life; I coach junior racers in Whistler on the weekends, and spend as much time as I can, searching for deep powder!

 

Bike racing has given me opportunity to ride in some of the most beautiful cycling destinations in the world, and also has helped me forge many amazing relationships. For me, cycling is a way of life, and you are never to old or young to enjoy all it has to give.
