Special mention goes to Neil McDonnell and JoAnne Mahon who were the first TaG riders through the finish line for men and woman in the 100km event. Neil came an impressive 43rd out of 401 riders in the 100km event posting a time of 3:31:58! Not too bad considering he just bought his first road bike 6weeks ago! Look out Ryder Hesjedal! And, Jo-Anne who was the first TaG female through in the 100km event placing 258 overall (men and women) posting a time fo 4:41:01
In the 140km event Kevin Mahon was the first TaG male through the finish line posting a time of 5:52:58, while Donna Begg was hot on his heels with the fastest TaG woman’s time for 5:53:15.
Many TaG riders headed over to the island this past weekend to ride the Tour de Victoria. The Ryder Hesjedal’s Tour de Victoria is a supported mass participation cycling event, catering to all fitness levels by offering three distances: the League 140km for the enthusiast, the Island Savings 100km for the entry-level rider and a 50km ride for those who want to experience cycling for the first time.
